Thorn’s employers, the shadowy Obscurati, have sent him to track down a group of transhumanist fanatics bent on accelerating human evolution. Thorn soon finds himself in the depths of the modern underworld, crossing paths with unscrupulous data brokers, erratic billionaires, elusive art forgers, and seasoned killers. To escape this elaborate web of conspiracy, he will need to trace the threads back to its convergence point: a doomsday vault created as a safeguard against a future where human language is obsolete.
