I Stand Corrected...

So a couple of days ago I was complaining about the finer points of online gaming. And then I was reminded of why online gaming is the future. Not only did I finally find a group of competent players, but it reminds me of the potential of online gaming.

The biggest difference about me and this group? We were partnered together through the playlist, and they all had headsets, so seeing if this was going to be a good group, I did the unthinkable. I put on my headset. The risk in this is a big deal, some people legitimately play with the intention of having fun and following the rules of the match and the spirit of the game, and others... well don't.

This group? We all just synced up. We all wanted to win, we all played the game. We were calling out where opponents were, we were communicating Flag locations and generally having a good time, cheering when one of us would save someone else, having a blast when we got a capture at the last possible moment. This is what online gaming is about. Not Chocolate milk, not calling other people names, not calling someones sexuality out over the internet, not racial slurs. It is about having fun and using your skills and having it all come together with others without the pains of distance. Oh, and it is definitely about headshots...
